This is Creepy

U.S. intelligence agencies during the Clinton Administration were bugging Diana, Princess of Wales?

I'd sure like to hear an explanation for that one.

Update: According to CBS and the AP, the NSA plans to release a statement denying the British report that the U.S. was eavesdropping on the princess.

What a strange story all the way around...

I'm sure the Clintons will say they knew nothing about it...and then will scream at Bush for not knowing about it! ;-)

The first report I saw about this also said the driver had connections to French intelligence, but that seems to have disappeared from later reports...so perhaps it was an error.

I agree with missy. I'm sure it would all have to do with Bush, Rush, Wal-Mart and Iraq.

Early reports are always interesting because they say things that somehow disappear in later reports. (Remember the original reports about the Coast Guard training mission that inadvertently shot a missle and maybe hit the TWA flight over Long Island?) Anyway, we know MI5 was wiretapping Dianna and Charles (the "squiggy" tapes) so I'd assume they know more than they've ever said, anyway, wouldn't you?

Good point about the wiretapping!
