A Special Treat

I've been admiring these teacup-style measuring cups on Nigella Lawson's Food Network programs.

I've had a lot of extra work lately and decided to splurge, and the measuring cups arrived today. They're a robin's egg blue, with the measurements printed on the inside of each cup. The box says they're dishwasher safe but I think I'll want to wash them by hand; they're ceramic and might be a bit on the fragile side.

They'll look beautiful when I display them in my kitchen cabinet.

I'm looking forward to using them this weekend. Our oldest daughter will be coming home from college for spring break, so some baking is in order!

Wow. Those are really nice and I think the price is very reasonable. I also like your cupboard :)

By the way, went to Disneyland yesterday and posted about in on MiceChat with photos. Go to Disneyland Resort. I post as Wendygirl and my thread is titled: Disneyland and DCA on 3/9 - photo heavy.

Thanks, Irene!

I've loved all your photos -- thank you also for the DCA links you recently emailed, I've been remiss in not acknowledging them yet!! (Been buried in proofreading a trial which I just finished tonight!)

My older children were at Disneyland today and found it very "ashy" due to the Anaheim Hills fire -- they came home early.

Best wishes, Laura

I'm glad you saw the photos. They were down for awhile because I moved my photos in PhotoBucket thereby destroying the link! I had to go through and repost each one :(

My brother had planned to go today but was tired after a busy week. He is glad he did not go as it was crowded, hot and smoky.

As we get closer to Spring break and summer the crowds are getting heavy again. Friday was nice.

PS. Years ago when my husband worked for IBM he was involved in proofreading for the trails against IBM that were going on at the time. He is good at that kind of thing. He's retired now.

I thought it was wonderful that you were so "in the know" about Muppets that you recognized their "voices" in the park!!

Your brother was fortunate. My children also mentioned it was pretty crowded. My daughter was anxious to try out the Rockin' Space Mountain while on her school break, and they were able to do that and a couple other rides, but not much else today.

Fun that your husband has had a taste of what I do for a living! I've read more Long Beach gang trials than I can count...this week was actually a change of pace, "just" a robbery with no gang involvement.

Best wishes, Laura

Wow! About the gang trials. My friend was on a trial involving gangs and was truly disturbed by the whole thing. Did you by any chance have to read the stuff involving the Bixby Knolls Halloween beatings or not because that was juveniles. The proceedings were front page news every day for weeks in the Press-Telegram.

Yes, I followed the new stories about that trial pretty closely. (The light sentences were disturbing.) I didn't read the actual transcripts, though, as I didn't have a client working in that courtroom.

I get the P-T on the weekends and sometimes it's delivered for free during the week. I have many ties to Long Beach (starting with being born there, grin) and so L.B. news is always of interest.

Best wishes, Laura
